ITES System interrupted service and move to a secure network

Starting on December 16, 2019 at 4 p.m., ITES will be unavailable for a few hours as part of KCTCS-mandated security updates. After the move, how you access ITES may change.

On December 16, 2019 at 4 p.m., we will be moving the ITES system to the BCTC Internal Network for KCTCS mandated security updates that will better protect our college data. There will be several hours of ITES service outage during this move. After the move, your access to ITES MAY change.

After the ITES move:

ITES will ONLY be accessible using the following methods:

  • You are logged into BCTC computer on Campus.
  • You are connected to KCTCS-EMPLOYEES wireless network.
  • You are connected to KCTCS VPN from off-campus.

What does this mean to you?

  • If you do not use ITES off the network at home, you WILL NOT be impacted. Your ITES access will be the same as usual on campus.
  • If you use ITES at home with a college laptop, you WILL NOT be impacted. Your ITES access will be the same through your laptop.
  • If you use ITES at home with a personal computer or tablet, this WILL impact you. In order to access ITES from home, you will need to request VPN from the IT department by submitting an IT Assistance Request.
  • If you need further assistance or have questions, please contact the IT Helpdesk (859) 246-4600 or x64600.

IT Services and Strategic Communications will be working together to update ITES for anywhere access. We will notify you when we have upgraded the security features to allow this option.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this transition time.
